KIDS AND HOMEWORKS

I agree that doing homework helps children on their way to becoming independent learners but sometimes that task is really hurt for them because they need a lot of time in their homework. For that reason, I believe that TIC´s help us to teach some subject. In this case, the article talks about the importance to use the web side to do their English homework. I learnt a lot with this reading because I show in it that with a good material is possible do homework at home.

PYGMALION EFFECT

This video talk about the pygmalion effect. Psychologist Robert Rosenthal and school principal Lenore Jacobson did a remarkable study in which they told school teachers Elementary school teachers that on the basis of some psychological test some of their students were designated as late bloomer even though they hadn´t shown any academic success they are expected to bloom. Finally, they were transformed by the teacher’s positive expectations. In this video, the protagonist analysed the Pygmalion effect: positive expectations can change a person´s perception of a situation. The work of Rosenthal and Jacobsen (1968), among others, shows that teacher expectations influence student performance. Positive expectations influence performance positively, and negative expectations influence performance negatively. FLASHCARDS

In this video, Carol Read told us some ideas for using flashcards. Flashcards are an incredibly practical and useful resource for teaching vocabulary. Activity 1: very fast. The teacher shows them the flashcard very fast children identify what´s on the flashcard Activity 2: Slowlyslowly. Cover the flashcard that you´re going to use and gradually reveal the picture and children identify what´s on the flashcard Activity 3: What´s missing?. Stick the flashcards on the board get the children to repeat the words out loud. Then the children close their eyes and cover their eyes with their hands, demonstrate this, remove one of the flashcards from the board and hide it behind our back. She starts her conference with some questions about the difficulties in the education system.
