CLASSIC FAIRY TALES This story is for kids in last year of pre-school (6 years). At the end of the story, I explain some vocabulary. HANSEL AND GRETEL BY BROTHERS GRIMM Once upon a time, in a small village, a lumberjack lived with his wife and their children. They were very poor, they didn't have much money. One day, the children decided to go to the forest to find some food. The little girl was throwing pieces of bread along the way so they could come home. When the sun fell, they tried to found the bread crumbs but the birds had eaten them! They walked and walked and finally they found a big chocolate house so they decided to come in. When they opened the door, they found an evil witch inside. She would not let them go home until one day the children managed to escape from that sweet house. On month later, in the forest they rediscovered with their parents who wept with happiness and hugged their children.

Body language is an important – and often decisive – factor in communication. This is especially true of communicators, who need to show congruency between the oral information and their body language when transmitting a message, because only if they manage to do so will the message be effective. Body language is an element in communication that we should be very much aware of because it gives clues to the character, emotions, and reactions of an individual. If you are aware of what you do with your body, your self-understanding becomes deeper and more meaningful. Once you manage to control your body language, you will be able to cross many defensive barriers and establish better relationships. PYGMALION EFFECT

This video talk about the pygmalion effect. Psychologist Robert Rosenthal and school principal Lenore Jacobson did a remarkable study in which they told school teachers Elementary school teachers that on the basis of some psychological test some of their students were designated as late bloomer even though they hadn´t shown any academic success they are expected to bloom. Finally, they were transformed by the teacher’s positive expectations. In this video, the protagonist analysed the Pygmalion effect: positive expectations can change a person´s perception of a situation. The work of Rosenthal and Jacobsen (1968), among others, shows that teacher expectations influence student performance. Positive expectations influence performance positively, and negative expectations influence performance negatively.
