I want to make a book about a soldier because I think he is an interest character for kids. I asked some question about the thoughts of the soldier so I taught the names of animals at the same time.

I  used repurposed materials as much as possible which saves preparation time. I don't get hung up about precision and perfection. The more joy in the process, the more books you and your students will want to make. The more books they make, the more writing and learning will happen.

TOPIC
The book is about a soldier who is lost and the children have to find him.
At the same time the children will freely ask the teacher about the soldier.
The reading session is over with a teacher´s question about the thoughts of the soldier, so at the same time the teacher begins to review all the animal´s names which they have learned throughout the all school year.

AGES
This workshop is designed for 4-5 year old children as they have developed fine motor skills and they don´t have problems for making this book and asking the teacher about a specific character.

“Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is an educational approach where some content learning (like a topic on global climate, or a subject) is taught in an additional language (such as English language in Korea). It is a single educational approach which involves very different models.” The video of David Marsh is very interesting because talk about how the different schools introduce the second language method, so it is very useful because that topic is common in all the Spanish school. The teachers need to know how to use in a better way the methodologies for teaching a second language and accelerate the learning of content, language at the same time, having fun. FLASHCARDS

In this video, Carol Read told us some ideas for using flashcards. Flashcards are an incredibly practical and useful resource for teaching vocabulary. Activity 1: very fast. The teacher shows them the flashcard very fast children identify what´s on the flashcard Activity 2: Slowlyslowly. Cover the flashcard that you´re going to use and gradually reveal the picture and children identify what´s on the flashcard Activity 3: What´s missing?.
